SUNY New Paltz Athletics

2017: Hempfling kicked off her season with a top-19 finish at the Vassar College XC Opener, finishing with a time of 11 minutes, 58.5 seconds on the 3K course. She then followed up that performance with a 38^th place finish at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational, crossing with a time of 20:45.3. After clocking in with a time of 20:58.9 for 139^th place at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, Hempfling nearly broke 20 minutes on the 5K course at the Saratoga Invitational, coming in at 20:06.5 for 110^th place. Hempfling helped the Hawks to a program-best third place team standing at the SUNYAC championship meet after crossing 78^th overall with a time of 27:28.5. Hempfling also earned a spot on the SUNYAC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll and was a SUNY New Paltz Donald Bishko Award winner. 

2016: Finished 80^th of 113 at the SUNYAC Championships (25:45.0)… Posted a season-best 5k time of 20:49.0 at the Saratoga Invitational (85^th of 157)… Placed 89^th of 197 at the Vassar Invitational (21:43.8).

2015: Finished 81st of 111 at the SUNYAC Championships with a time of 25:29.6... Placed 159th of 266 at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships with a mark of 25:33.6... Completed the Paul Short Run in 24:56 (322nd of 387)... Placed 12th of 62 at the SUNY Plattsburgh Invitational with a time of 26:38.5... Completed the Vassar 5K in 20:41.3 (34th of 110)... Finished 3rd of 21 in the New Palt Two-Miler with a mark of 11:46.9.

High School Accolades: All-Division, All-Country track and field (2014).

Personal: From Holbrook, NY… graduated from Sachem High School East in 2014… previously attended East Stroudsburg University and competed for its Division II cross country program in 2014… daughter of Timothy and Grace Hempfling.
