D’Ippolito was promoted to Senior Director of Athletic Communications, Marketing and Social Media for the State University of New York at New Paltz in November of 2022 after serving as the department’s Director of Athletic Communications since August of 2017.
Under her tenure, D’Ippolito revamped the sports information office for the Hawks, reviving its social media pages and enhancing engagement on all New Paltz Hawks platforms, including Twitter (@nphawks), Instagram (@newpaltzhawks), Facebook and Youtube, along with overseeing the rebranding of the Hawks athletics website, nphawks.com. She developed an in-depth coverage plan for all 17 varsity sports at SUNY New Paltz, providing written previews, post-game interviews, feature stories, alumni spotlights, along with implementing a multi-media first approach to the department’s coverage with game-highlights, post-game interviews and preview videos with coaches and student-athletes.
D'Ippolito oversees all communications planning for the department, including all video and written content, photography, statistical information, live streaming, play-by-play, commentary, along with assisting with marketing strategies and fundraising initiatives for the department. She oversees the hiring and function of communications game day staff which includes more than 40 students under her guidance on either paid, volunteer or credited capacity throughout the year.
Along with her traditional role in sports information that sees her in charge of all statistical management of current and former Hawks student-athletes, in-game stating and updating honors and records for the SUNY New Paltz athletics website, she also serves on the Hawks Athletics Hall of Fame committee, is the liaison to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee’s Communications subcommittee, the College’s Communications staff, and the College’s Center for Student Media, along with working closely with the Wellness & Recreation side of house for Athletics. She is also an active member of College Sports Communicators (formally CoSida), and is a voting member for D3hoops.com men's basketball top-25 poll.
Since stepping into the lead role for the SUNY New Paltz Athletic Communications Office, D’Ippolito has seen the Hawks win 10 conference championships, including nine SUNYAC titles, earn 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, have four national cross country qualifiers, a swimming national champion and a team national championship in 2019 for the men’s volleyball program.
Prior to joining SUNY New Paltz’s Athletic Department, D’Ippolito worked at the Baltimore Sun Media Group, Howard County Times as a staff sports writer under editor Brent Kennedy where she produced in-depth coverage of local sports beats including preseason videos, post-game video interviews, weekly power rankings and notebooks, along with commentating on a weekly sports podcast for the publication as she covered seasonal beats, primarily covering women’s soccer, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s cross country and track and field and softball, while assisting with football, cheerleading and volleyball.
Along with stints at the Baltimore Sun, she held positions as a freelance sports writer for Examiner Media, Halston Media and the Press Republican among other publications.
D’Ippolito earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism Magazine/Multimedia with a minor in English from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2014, while also competing for the Cardinals women’s soccer program for three seasons.
