Renee Bostic took over as the Director of Athletics, Wellness and Recreation at SUNY New Paltz on July 1, 2021.
A seasoned athletic director and former head coach, Bostic has more than two decades of collegiate athletic experience. She served as the Director of Athletics & Wellness at Notre Dame of Maryland University since 2018. Under her leadership, the department won three CSAC championships, the total number of student-athletes increased by 30 percent, and the department earned the NCAA Division III September 2019 Diversity Spotlight Initiative.
Prior to taking over the helm for the Hawks, Bostic served for five years as Director of Athletics & Intramural's at Medgar Evers College (CUNY) in Brooklyn, New York. Recently, she was named the NCAA Division III Athletics Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics in 2021.
Bostic has a demonstrated record of successful leadership including strategic planning, supervisory and budgetary experience. She brings insights from her 15 years of experience coaching women's basketball, having previously held positions at West Virginia State University in Institute, West Virginia, Robert Morris College (University), Chicago, Illinois, Hostos Community College, Bronx, New York, Manhattan College, Riverdale, New York, and American International College, Springfield, Massachusetts.
Bostic holds membership in several professional organizations including: Women Leaders in College Sports (WLCP), National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), National Association of Division III Athletics Administrators (NADIIIAA), a pasted Board of Directors Member for the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) and a Queens Alumnae Chapter member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She is an NCAA facilitator for the GameDay the DIII Way and the OneTeam programs, and in 2021 was elected as one of five members of the Women's Leaders in College Sports Board of Directors and Nominating Committee.
