Cain was promoted as the Assistant Director of Wellness and Recreation in May 2025 after two years with the Hawks, serving in several roles for the State University of New York at New Paltz, Athletics, Wellness & Recreation Department Assistant.

During the 2025-26 academic year, Cain oversaw 150-plus student workers at the Athletic and Wellness Center including building supervisors, front desk and weight room attendants, group fitness instructors, intramural officials and lifeguards. Intramural Sports set record participation in the Fall-Spring of 2025-26 with over 700 students participating in leagues, tournaments and events. Cain also started the departments campaign for "Clean Out For A Cause" that distributes lost and found and donation items to children and communities both domestic and international where it is harder to obtain athletic gear and clothing. Cain served as the coordinator for 20+ Club practices and game reservations as well as the Varsity Men's and Women's Basketball game manager where both teams hosted SUNYAC playoff games. 
 
Cain spent the years prior with the Hawks in multiple roles. He was the lead building supervisor for the Athletic & Wellness Center starting in the summer of 2023 with his responsibility extended into the fall semester, supervising and managing 50-plus student workers including monitors, curve workers, lifeguards and intramural staff. Cain also oversaw all Club practices, games and scheduling at the Athletic and Wellness Center and on-campus fields. 
 
During the 2022-23 academic year, he aided the Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation, responsible for organizing and processing official’s paperwork for all home varsity contests, was game manager for men’s and women’s basketball, softball, baseball and men’s lacrosse games, including during the 2023 Softball SUNYAC Championships and worked as the building supervisor during New Paltz’s Youth Basketball Association games.
 
Prior to SUNY New Paltz, Cain earned his bachelor’s degree at SUNY Brockport in Sports Management with a Minor in Coaching. As a student at Brockport, he also served as the club baseball president and a member of the University’s club baseball team. He worked events under the athletic department for the Golden Eagles on the student event staff and was an assistant coach for the Brockport Modified Football team. 
 
Cain currently lives in New Paltz, NY with his dog Cooper and is an avid Patriots and Yankees fan.
