SUNY New Paltz Athletics

Stross led New Paltz to a 3-2 record on the week with team-highs of 47 kills and 15 total blocks. Of the five matches that the Hawks contested on the week, four came against nationally-ranked opposition. He hit .378 for the week, including .481 with 15 kills and only two errors in 27 total attacks, as New Paltz downed the No. 8 Massachusetts Institute of Technology in five sets on Sunday. As a result of his play during New Paltz’s annual Hawks Tournament over the weekend, he was named to the All-Tournament Team. The Hawks’ 3-2 record includes wins against No. 7 Baruch College, No. 8 MIT and Elms College and losses to No. 9 New York University and No. 14 Emmanuel College.
