Walker scored a season-high 16 points off 5-of-12 shooting from the floor and 5-of-5 shooting from the free-throw line on Tuesday night, helping the Hawks’ cause in a 74-63 loss to fourth-ranked William Paterson University. In that game, she also pulled down a season-high six rebounds and filled out the stat sheet with three assists and two steals. She holds team-highs in points per game (7.3) and assists per game (2.3) so far this season. New Paltz, which is 0-4 overall, hopes to gain its first victory of the year when it hosts the Stevens Institute of Technology in its 2011-12 home opener on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
