SUNY New Paltz Athletics

Pyz threw four hitless and scoreless innings in relief, picking up the win in the Hawks’ 1-0 victory in 11 innings over No. 9 Salisbury University on Saturday in the front end of a doubleheader. He issued three walks (one intentional) and had one hit-by-pitch, but he managed three strikeouts as well. It marked his first career victory on the mound for New Paltz, as he was 0-0 during his freshman year in nine appearances. New Paltz (1-2) returns to action on Saturday, March 10, for a 12 p.m. non-conference doubleheader against SUNY Purchase.
