SUNY New Paltz Athletics

Woych helped the Hawks place second of 38 teams at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth 5K Invite on Saturday, finishing as the highest Division III institution in the standings. Woych was the top finisher for New Paltz, claiming seventh place out of 272 runners. She posted a school-record 5K time of 18:15.4, averaging 5:52.5 a mile. Woych's time bested the previous non-Saratoga Invitational time held by Nichole Wischoff (18:48.8 at 2011 Hamilton Invite). New Paltz next races at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Friday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m.
