Koenig posted a pair of top-two finishes—including one first-place result—and nearly vaulted the Hawks to a come-from-behind victory in the 200 freestyle in a 120-85 loss to SUNY Cortland on Friday afternoon at Elting Pool. Koenig paced the field in the 50 freestyle (22.17) and touched second in the 100 freestyle (48.88) before unloading a 21.04 anchor split in the 200 freestyle relay, which led the Hawks to a second-place finish (1:28.97). New Paltz returns to action on Monday, Jan. 19, as it visits Ramapo College for a 1 p.m. meet.
