Spader became the seventh Hawk to earn the SUNYAC's James Fulton Award, as he placed second in two events at the 2015 SUNYAC Swimming & Diving Championships over the weekend. The James Fulton Award is given annually to a senior male swimmer/diver based on the following criteria: All-America honors, All-SUNYAC honors, improvement throughout collegiate career and academic achievement. Spader earned Second-Team All-SUNYAC honors in the 500 freestyle (4:41.52, second) and the 1,650 freestyle (16:24.16, second), and he also placed 10th in the 200 freestyle (1:46.49). He split a 1:45.50 on the Hawks' third-place 800 freestyle relay that clocked a time of 7:11.44. New Paltz finished fourth at the SUNYAC Championships, improving two places upon last year's finish.
