SUNY New Paltz Athletics

DiGiacomo had a highlight weekend for the Hawks women's volleyball team, as she helped SUNY New Paltz to a 3-0 weekend during the annual Hawks Invitational Sept. 10 and 11.

In the opening game against Mt. Saint Mary's College, she totaled 24 assists and spread the offense around to 10 different teammates who registered a kill in the game. She also added six digs and two digs in the 3-0 sweep. In a four-set win over Alfred Saturday, the sophomore set a new career-high with 40 assists, averaging 10 assists per set, while adding two aces and three kills with the Hawks winning three-straight sets to take a 3-1 victory. SUNY New Paltz rolled through the first two sets against Sage and after losing the third with most of their bench in the game, DiGiacomo came back in the fourth and helped her team secure the four-set victory. She finished with 26 assists, averaging nearly nine assists per set played and added a kill, nine digs and a service ace.
