Box Score BUFFALO, NY- The New Paltz women's basketball team wrapped up their road schedule Saturday afternoon with a 63-53 win over the Bengals from Buffalo State in the Sports Arena. Three Hawks scored in double-figures as the Hawks started the second half on 20-4 run to pull away from the host Bengals.

Carly Minehan finished with 11 points as the Hawks improve to 14-9 overall and 11-5 in the SUNYAC. The Hawks are currently a game and half up on fourth place Oswego State in the SUNYAC standings.
Staci McElroy led the Bengals with a game-high 18 points and four steals and Kristen Ritch finished with 15 points and four rebounds. Alicia Bowman and Marlena Edwards each finished with six points as the Bengals fall to 10-12 overall and 5-10 in the SUNYAC.
The Hawks held an early one point advantage three minutes into the game and used a 9-1 run over the next three minutes to take a 14-7 lead. With six minutes, 53 seconds to in the half, the Bengals cut into deficit and took the lead with a 16-4 run to end the half up 29-25.
The Hawks started the second half on a 20-4 run to take a 45-33 and never looked back. The Hawks led by double-digits for most of the second half and the Bengals never got any closer than seven points in the half. The Hawks outscored the Bengals bench 14-7 in the second half and 14-2 on points off turnovers.
The Hawks return to action Tuesday against Oswego at 6 p.m. in the Hawk Center.
