Oneonta (4-1-0, 1-0-0 SUNYAC), which is the first team receiving votes in the latest release of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top-25 Poll, scored first in the 39th minute, and New Paltz (1-5-1, 0-1-0 SUNYAC) held the host team scoreless for nearly 40 minutes until it extended the lead to two in the 76th minute off of an unassisted Dana DeSimone goal. Mary Gray added an insurance score in the 86th minute, heading in a pass from DeSimone.

The Red Dragons peppered the Hawks with shots, holding an 18-3 advantage on the contest. Oneonta also took four corners to New Paltz's three.

Sophomore goalkeeper Stephanie Vega (Oceanside, N.Y.) made a game-high five stops in between the pipes for the Hawks, while Amy Lusby earned the shutout, registering two saves across 90 minutes of work for the Red Dragons.
