BROCKPORT, N.Y. – After almost 700 consecutive scoreless minutes, the State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team (8-3-1, 3-1-0 SUNYAC) finally ceded a goal Saturday afternoon in Brockport, losing for the first time in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play this year, 1-0, against The College of Brockport (6-3-1, 2-2-0 SUNYAC), in overtime.
With only 14 seconds remaining in the first overtime period, Brockport midfielder Sarah Petrie knocked in a cross from midfielder Sarah Lawson for the game winning goal, Petrie's first goal of the season.
The goal snapped New Paltz's streak of 699 minutes and 7 seconds without allowing an opposing score. Junior goalkeeper
Stephanie Vega (Oceanside, N.Y./Baldwin Senior), who minded net for the entirety of the streak, ended the game with 10 saves. Brockport's keeper, Erin Asquith, totaled six saves in the shutout effort, her fourth shutout of the season.
New Paltz was outshot by Brockport, 22-10. Senior midfielder

The Hawks look to rebound on Friday, Oct. 7, as they travel to Plattsburgh, N.Y. to take on SUNY Plattsburgh at 4 p.m in SUNYAC play.
