POTSDAM, N.Y. – Junior forward Shelby Kondelka (Bloomingburg, N.Y./Pine Bush) had two assists, as the State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team (9-4-1, 4-2-0 SUNYAC) bested SUNY Potsdam (3-7-2, 0-5-0 SUNYAC) by a count of 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action.

Senior defender Shannon Cobb (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington) got the Hawks on the board early, finding the back of the net 5:16 into the contest off of a Kondelka pass. After taking just five shots in the first half, New Paltz started peppering the Bear defense with shot attempts, piling up 12 in the final 45 minutes of play. Freshman midfielder Eleni Anselmi (Garnerville, N.Y./North Rockland) scored on the team's last shot of the day, cashing in on a pass from Kondelka.

New Paltz uncorked 17 shots total during the game and limited Potsdam to just three. The Hawks also took seven corner kicks to the Bears' zero.

Junior goalkeeper Stephanie Vega (Oceanside, N.Y./Baldwin Senior) registered her eighth shutout of the season in a two-save performance, putting her in a tie for second on the program's all-time chart for a single season. Potsdam's Dedra Palmer stopped six New Paltz shots in the loss.

The Hawks face Drew University in a non-conference clash on Wednesday, Oct. 12, taking on the Rangers at 4:30 p.m. in Madison, N.J.
