Shelby Kondelka (Bloomingburg, N.Y./Pine Bush) had a goal and an assist, leading the State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team (3-2-0) to a 4-1 victory over Carthage College (1-2-1) Saturday evening on the second and final day of the Scarlet Raider Soccer Classic on the campus of Rutgers University-Newark, earning the event's title. For her efforts across both days of the tournament, Kondelka was named the Tournament MVP.

Eleni Anselmi (Garnerville, N.Y./North Rockland) all joined Kondelka on the All-Tournament Team.
New Paltz's offense was clicking on all cylinders once again, as the Hawks poured on four or more goals for the second time this season. Kondelka scored unassisted in the 27th minute to open scoring, and Anselmi extended the advantage to two with a goal from 40 yards out at 38:03.
The Redmen cut the lead in half in the 51st minute, as Alyssa Baker played in a ball that was headed into the goal by Monica Rosenberger. Abravanel buried an unassisted marker in the 61st minute to give the Hawks a two-goal edge, and freshman forward
Sarah Painter (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) sealed the victory for New Paltz with a goal at 78:18 off of a Kondelka cross.
Vega earned the win in net for the Hawks, making four stops across a full 90 minutes of action. Angela Spinelli shouldered the loss for Carthage, turning aside four shots.
The Redmen outshot the Hawks, 13-12, and earned seven corner kicks to New Paltz's two.
The Hawks return to action on Friday, Sept. 16, contesting Ramapo College in a rescheduled non-conference game at 4 p.m. in Mahwah, N.J.
