CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team (4-4-1, 0-0-1 SUNYAC) tied SUNY Cortland (1-3-4, 0-0-1 SUNYAC), 2-2, in Cortland, N.Y., to open up State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action on Friday afternoon.

Tommy Garafola (Richmond Hill, N.Y./St. Francis Prep). It only took 10 minutes into the second half for the Red Dragons to take the lead thanks to goals by Steffen Jude and Lukas Wear. Max Schmitt and Andrew Troisi assisted Jude's and Wear's goals, respectively.

The Hawks were able to outshoot Cortland, 26-12, but were unable to break the tie. Of those 26 shots, half were on frame. Goalkeeper Tim Beauvias was brilliant for the Red Dragons as he made 11 saves, including eight in the second half and overtime periods. Sophomore goalkeeper

New Paltz will look to add to the win column, as it continues SUNYAC action tomorrow afternoon in Oswego, N.Y., to take on the Lakers of SUNY Oswego.
