SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.
– A goal by Skidmore College's Diego Reinero at 34:15 wound up being the difference in Tuesday night's non-conference clash between the State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team (1-2-0) and Skidmore (2-1-0), as the host Thoroughbreds won, 1-0.

Reinero cashed in on a Brock Bakewell feed in from the left wing, scoring his first goal of the season.

New Paltz had its chances to score all game, but Skidmore goalkeeper Nick Peterson kept the Hawks off the scoreboard with six saves in the winning effort. Sophomore goalkeeper Conor Power (White Plains, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) made five stops and shouldered the loss, dropping his record to 1-2-0 on the season. In spite of the fact that he has drawn two losses this season in three games played, Power possess a 0.67 goals-against average and a .857 save percentage.

Senior midfielder/forward Tommy Garafola (Richmond Hill, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) took four shots on the evening, while junior midfielders/forwards Harrison Lane (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) and Shanshe Khosroshvili (Brooklyn, N.Y./Edward R. Murrow) recorded three and two shots, respectively.

Both New Paltz and Skidmore took 14 shots (seven in each half), but the Thoroughbreds had seven corner kicks to the Hawks' one.
