CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team (12-3, 1-1 SUNYAC East) wrapped up day one of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) East Division Pool Play on Friday evening at SUNY Cortland's Corey Gymnasium, losing to No. 9 Cortland, 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-14), before sweeping SUNY Plattsburgh, 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 25-22).
Against Cortland, senior outside hitter
Michelle Jacobson (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) led the way with 11 kills and 14 digs, while junior libero
Carrie Hack (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) tied her for the team-high in digs with 14 of her own. Junior setter
Marissa King (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) also handed out 23 assists.
Versus Plattsburgh, senior middle hitter
Dana Vosilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) had a team-high 18 kills, while King dished out 40 assists. Hack and Jacobson each registered 17 digs as well.
New Paltz wraps up SUNYAC East Pool Play tomorrow, as it squares off with SUNY Potsdam at 12 p.m. and SUNY Oneonta at 2 p.m.
