SUNYAC Volleyball Pool Play - October 11-12 at New Paltz

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – From Friday-Saturday, Oct. 11-12, the State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team will host The College at Brockport, Buffalo State and SUNY Oneonta at the Hawk Center in a four-team State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) pod as a part of SUNYAC Pool Play. It marks the second of three pool play rounds, and SUNY Potsdam hosts the six-team site this weekend.

New Paltz and Buffalo State are tied with Potsdam atop the league standings, and the Hawks and Bengals will battle on Saturday at 10 a.m. New Paltz (17-5, 3-0 SUNYAC) is coming off a big out-of-region win over No. 23 Williams College from Wednesday, while Buffalo State (15-6, 3-0 SUNYAC) is riding a 10-match win streak. The Bengals, who are one victory shy of matching a program record for consecutive wins, defeated the Hawks in the semifinal round of last year's SUNYAC Tournament, 3-0.

Oneonta (9-11, 1-2 SUNYAC) will receive some clarity in terms of where it stands in the playoff picture after this weekend, as the Red Dragons are locked in a four-way tie for fifth in the conference standings. Last year, Oneonta knocked off New Paltz in five sets during SUNYAC East Division Pool Play at the Hawk Center. Finally, Brockport (9-10, 0-3 SUNYAC), under the leadership of first-year head coach Steve Pike, has already bettered its 2012 win total of eight.

Live statistics will be available for all New Paltz matches, while updated results and box scores will be provided on the event's tournament page. Potsdam will provide updates from its six-team pod via its Twitter account, @PotsdamBears.
