NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team will conclude the 2013 season with two home games against State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponents on Friday, Oct. 25, at 3 p.m. against SUNY Fredonia and on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. against Buffalo State.

Records: The Hawks enter Friday afternoon's game with a 2-11-3 record (0-6-1 SUNYAC). Fredonia is 4-9-2, 2-4-1. Buffalo State, which has a Friday afternoon game, is 11-4-1, 6-0-1. 

Scouting the Hawks: The Hawks had two heartbreaking losses last week, falling to Drew University 2-1 in double overtime and 1-0 to SUNY Oneonta in the closing minutes of the contest... The Red Dragons captured last Saturday's SUNYAC game with an unassisted goal with 6:10 to play...The youthful Hawks, who have 17 players on the roster that are underclassmen, have played five overtime games this season... The future looks promising, as the roster features only six juniors and not a single senior...Sophomore goalie Krysten Kane has been stellar throughout, leading the SUNYAC in saves with 92... She has a season- and career-high 13 saves against Westfield State College, 11 against The College at Brockport and 10 against SUNY Oswego... Her 6.13 save per game average ranks first in the conference... She has five or more saves in nine games, including nine against Drew.

Scouting Fredonia: The Blue Devils enter this afternoon's game riding a two-game winning streak, having swept Potsdam (3-0) and Plattsburgh (2-1) for their first SUNYAC wins of the season last weekend... Those victories snapped a four-game losing streak and pushed the Blue Devils into a tie for seventh place in conference standings... Fredonia has defeated Penn State-Behrend (2-1) and Elmira (5-0) this season... Fredonia is tied for fourth in the conference in goals scored (18) ... In overall statistics, Fredonia ranks fourth in points with 50, tallying 18 goals with 14 assists... On the defensive side, the Blue Devils have allowed 26 goals this season, the most of any SUNYAC team... Leading scorer freshman midfielder Kristie Kleine ranks fourth in SUNYAC-only stats in scoring with seven goals... She has three game winning goals this season.

Last Meeting: (Box Score): New Paltz and Fredonia squared off against each other in the quarterfinal round of the SUNYAC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament on Oct. 27, 2012... After playing to a 2-2 tie through regulation and two overtime periods, third-seeded Fredonia topped sixth-seeded New Paltz, 3-2, in a penalty-kick shootout, which sent the Blue Devils to the semifinals... After Fredonia took a 1-0 lead early in the game, New Paltz received second-half goals from then freshman forward Chelsea Weir and then senior forward Samantha Abravanel to take a 2-1 advantage... Then senior Katie Kleine took a pass from then senior Reilly Condidorio in the waning seconds of regulation, and Kleine slipped the ball past then senior goalkeeper Stephanie Vega to send the game into overtime.

Scouting Buffalo State: Prior to facing the Hawks, Buffalo State play SUNY Oneonta on Friday… On Tuesday afternoon, the Bengals defeated Medaille, 2-0, improving to 11-4-1 this season and extended their winning streak to five games... It was only the second time Buffalo State scored two goals in a game… The Bengals last lost 1-0 to The College at Brockport on Sept. 28... With a 6-1-0 SUNYAC record, Buffalo State leads the conference, ahead of Oswego (5-3-0) and are playing to maintain a No. 1 seed and home-field advantage in the playoffs… The Bengals are particularly formidable at home, sporting a 5-1-0 record… Buffalo State has won 11 games with only 15 goals and have allowed just nine…

Last Meeting: (Box Score): Prior to their regular-season Fredonia game, on Oct. 19, 2012, the Hawks dropped a tough 2-1 loss at Buffalo State... There was consolation in the loss, however, as then senior forward Samantha Abravanel set a program record for single-season assists.
