NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's basketball team looks to get back into the win column on Saturday, Nov. 23, as the Hawks host non-conference Delaware Valley College at 4 p.m. at the Hawk Center. It marks New Paltz's final home game of the 2013 calendar year.

Records: The Hawks enter Saturday's game with a 2-1 record. Delaware Valley also owns a 2-1 mark.

Scouting the Hawks: New Paltz suffered its first loss of the 2013-14 season on Thursday night at the Hawk Center, losing, 73-61, to Hudson Valley foe Vassar College... The Brewers went on a 12-0 run midway through the second half to break the game open, and Joe Tino ended up helping the Hawks crack the 60-point barrier right before time expired with a three-pointer... Junior guard/forward Taylor Sowah and graduate student guard Nick Taldi paced the New Paltz offense with 15 and 14 points, respectively... Vassar won due in large part to its efficient shooting from the floor... The Brewers went 49.0 percent (24-of-49) from the floor and 46.4 percent (13-of-28) from three-point range... The Hawks began their season by going 2-0 at the Lee Fulmer Memorial Tip-Off Classic... While there, they topped Whittier College and host University of Redlands.

Statistical Leaders: Junior guard/forward Taylor Sowah boasts the team lead in scoring and rebounding at 15.3 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game, respectively, while senior guard Andrew Joseph owns the team lead in assists per game (3.3) and steals per game (1.7).

Scouting the Aggies: In a battle of defending conference champions on Wednesday night, it was Delaware Valley College (Freedom Conference) that proved victorious over Ramapo College (New Jersey Athletic Conference), as the host Aggies came back after letting a late lead slip away in regulation and posted a 92-83 win in overtime... The two teams were hot offensively, with the Aggies posting a 47.8 (32-of-67) field-goal percentage and the Roadrunners fashioning a 46.0 percent (29-of-63) field-goal percentage... Delaware Valley held a slight 39-38 edge on the boards, while the Aggies committed 25 turnovers to the Roadrunners' 23.

Statistical Leaders: Junior guard Francis Arnold leads Delaware Valley with 22.3 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game and 3.3 steals per game… Sophomore guard/forward Chris Moran is tops on the team in rebounds per game (11.3) and blocks per game (1.7).

Last Meeting: (Box Score): Delaware Valley topped New Paltz, 74-72, off a late layup when the two teams last met on Jan. 4, 2013... Then-freshman guard Zach Sly hit a driving layup with 2.1 seconds to go in regulation to give the Aggies the win… Then-senior guard Shereef Taylor paced the Hawks with 26 points and 14 boards, while Sly posted career-high totals in points (13), assists (8) and steals (4).

What's Next: New Paltz visits fellow Hudson Valley foe Mount Saint Mary College next on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m… Delaware Valley squares off with Arcadia University next on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Aggies' James Work Gymnasium.
