NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's swimming team looks to continue its preparation for the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Winter Championships, as the Hawks square off with cross-river opponent Vassar College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Records: The Hawks enter Saturday's meet at 0-2, while Vassar comes into Saturday with a 1-1 dual-meet record.

Scouting the Hawks: New Paltz fell, 115-90, to SUNY Oswego last Saturday at Elting Pool… The Lakers came up big in the 100 breaststroke, placing first, third and fourth to outscore the Hawks by a 14-8 margin in the event and put the win out of reach for the home team in the final relay… Junior Jack Spader was New Paltz's top swimmer against the Lakers, winning the 1,000 freestyle (10:33.11) and the 500 freestyle (5:04.27).

Scouting the Brewers: Vassar suffered a 155-112 defeat to host Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute when the two teams met on Saturday in Troy, N.Y… Freshman Anthony Walker paced the Brewers with a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly (53.53) and a second-place result in the 200 butterfly (2:00.42)… Walker was just off the program record in each of those events.

Last Meeting: (Meet Results): New Paltz pinned a 137-70 setback on the Brewers when the two teams last met on Nov. 17, 2012… Then-sophomore Marton Keri paced the Hawks by winning three events… Keri captured the 100 backstroke (57.44), the 200 breaststroke (2:15.82) and the 400 individual medley (4:32.77)… Then-freshman Ethan Cooke won the 200 freestyle, while then-senior Bryan Farm touched first in the 200 backstroke (2:13.32).

What's Next: New Paltz next competes at the ECAC Winter Championships from Friday-Sunday, Dec. 6-8, at Lehman College in Bronx, N.Y., while Vassar competes at the Liberty League Championships from Dec. 6-8 at Union (N.Y.) College.

Coaches: New Paltz is coached by sixth-year head coach Scott Whitbeck... Vassar is directed by 19th-year head coach Lisl Prater-Lee.
