New Paltz, NY — College Sports Communicators (CSC, formally CoSida) announced its annual Academic All-District swimming teams Tuesday with Hawks senior

Antonio Vavalle and
Jack Samko grabbed their first CSC Academic All-District honor and with the accolade are automatically in consideration for the CSC Academic All-American Team, which is set to be announced April 29.
The two were pivotal to the team's success this past winter, leading the Hawks to a sixth place standing at the SUNYAC Championship meet.
Vavalle was a Second Team All-SUNYAC select this year in his final stint with the Hawks, earning his fourth-straight trip to the all-conference team. At the SUNYAC Championship meet, Vavalle placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4 minutes, 42.37 seconds and third in the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:44.22.
Samko nabbed his second-straight All-SUNYAC honor, as he landed on third team after touting two bronze medals at the 2026 SUNYAC Championship meet. He placed third in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly after touching in times of 51.32 and 1:56.99, respectively.
As selected by the nations' sports communicators, the academic all-district award recognizes the country's top student-athletes for their combined performances both athletically and academically. The CSC recognizes honorees from four division across Division I, II, III and NAIA. To be considered, nominees must be recognized as one of the best in their respective conferences and must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or better. Less than five percent of student-athletes earned the prestigious honor last season across all and divisions.
