NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's basketball team looks to level its overall record back at .500 on Tuesday night, as the Hawks travel to Willimantic, Conn., to face Eastern Connecticut State University at 7:30 p.m. in their final tune-up before the start of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play.

Scouting the Warriors: Eastern Connecticut State stretched its win streak to four on Tuesday, topping Connecticut College, 69-45… The Warriors limited Connecticut College to 23.6 percent (13-of-55) shooting from the floor, and Eastern Connecticut State shot at a 37.1 percent (23-of-62) clip from the field… While senior guard Brian Salzillo, one of the Warriors' top scorers, was held in check, Eastern Connecticut relied on 22 points each from sophomore guard Trachone Preston and senior guard Mike Garrow… On Nov. 30, Salzillo was named to D3Hoops.com's first Men's Basketball Team of the Week for the 2013-14 season after averaging 25.2 points in five games on 52.5 percent shooting… Eastern Connecticut State, which was known as Willimantic State during the 1950s, holds a four-game win streak in the series.
Statistical Leaders: Senior guard Brian Salzillo averages a team-best 22.3 points per game, and he is joined in double-digit scoring average by senior guard Mike Garrow (18.5 ppg) and sophomore guard Trachone Preston (13.0 ppg)… Salzillo's scoring average currently is tied for 47th in NCAA Division III… Garrow averages a double-double a game with 10.8 rebounding average and adds an average of 4.7 assists per game.
