RALEIGH, N.C. – Junior midfielder
Eleni Anselmi (Garnerville, N.Y./North Rockland) scored a pair of goals on Sunday to lead the State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team (1-1-2) to a 2-0 victory over Guilford College (0-5-0) in their final matchup in the Meredith Classic hosted by Meredith College.

Chelsea Weir (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and sophomore midfielder
Kristina Gandolfo (Merrick, N.Y./Sanford H. Calhoun) were all named to the Meredith Classic All-Tournament team for their performances over the course of the weekend.
Anselmi scored her first goal off a feed from Weir at the 6:53 mark in the first half. Weir set up Anselmi again in the 35th minute when the Hawks got their second goal.
After saving 27 shots in her first three games, sophomore goalkeeper
Krysten Kane (Macedon, N.Y./Wayne Central) needed just one save to earn her first shutout of the season and pick up her first win as well. Guilford's Abby Gove made nine saves, but allowed two goals to shoulder the loss.
The Hawks defense held Guilford to just five shots on the day, while they fired off a season-high 29 of their own. The Hawks also held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks in the win.
The Hawks return to action Wednesday, Sept. 11, with a non-conference matchup at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The game is set to kick off under the lights at 7:30 p.m.
