NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's basketball team looks to build some conference momentum when the Hawks host SUNY Oneonta at the Hawk Center on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. in their fourth State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) contest of the season.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS (2-8, 0-3 SUNYAC): A slow start didn't deter the Hawks on Tuesday night against SUNY Cortland as New Paltz stormed back from a 14-point second half deficit to draw within five points of the Red Dragons, but Hawks couldn't muster enough offensive momentum in a 66-53 loss… The Hawks, who trailed 41-27 with 18:28 to play, went on an 11-2 run over the next 5:27 to draw within 43-38 with 13:01 remaining… Junior guard
Shannan Walker led the Hawks with 13 points – one off her season best 14 against the Stevens Institute of Technology – while freshman guard/forward

SCOUTING THE RED DRAGONS (8-2, 2-1 SUNYAC): Senior guard Alyshia Crawford drained a three-pointer following a timeout with 1:25 remaining in the game and then scored a breakaway layup with 12 seconds to go off a steal by Grace Schilling to lead Oneonta to a 66-62 victory over SUNY Oswego on Tuesday evening at Oneonta... The victory was Oneonta's third straight and the fourth in the last five games... Oneonta has posted conference wins over SUNY Fredonia and Oswego and lost to Buffalo State.
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Crawford leads the team in scoring (15.2 ppg), which ranks sixth best in the SUNYAC… Sophomore guard Lyteshia Price leads the team in rebounding (6.3 rpg), which ranks 15th in the SUNYAC.
TEAM STATISTICS: The Red Dragons lead the SUNYAC in scoring defense (52.7 ppg) and have held opponents under 50 points four times this season.
LAST MEETINGS: The Hawks and Red Dragons split the 2012-13 series… New Paltz won 50-36 on Jan. 12, 2013 at home and lost at Oneonta, 55-54, in overtime, on Feb. 15, 2013...
