NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – As the basketball season nears its midpoint, the State University of New York at New Paltz men's basketball team heads to SUNY Oswego for a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 8 p.m.

LIVE COVERAGE: The Oswego Sports Information Office will provide live stats at the above links.

RECORDS: New Paltz enters Tuesday's game with a 4-7, 1-3 SUNYAC record… Oswego owns a 10-2, 3-1 record.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS (4-7, 1-3 SUNYAC): A strong second half by SUNY Oneonta ultimately hurt the Hawks, who fell to the Red Dragons, 80-75, at the Hawk Center last Saturday… Junior forward Taylor Sowah led the Hawks with 21 points, while junior guard/forward R.J. tallied a career-high-tying 20 points... Rosa also helped out with five rebounds and a career-high four blocks... Senior guard Andrew Joseph paced New Paltz on the boards with nine rebounds and also handed out five assists.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Sowah is tops on the team and 10th in the SUNYAC in scoring with 15.6 points per game… Freshman forward Andrew Seniuk has been efficient from the field, shooting at a team-best 62 percent clip (39-of-63)… Seniuk, however, does not qualify among the SUNYAC leaders, as he does not average five made field goals a game, but otherwise would rank third in the SUNYAC… Senior guard Andrew Joseph leads the team in rebounding (6.4 rpg)…  Joseph owns the SUNYAC's eighth-best per-game average in assists (3.5 apg).

TEAM STATISTICS: The Hawks are holding their opponents to 75.4 points per game, which is the sixth-best average in the SUNYAC… The Hawks rank fourth in the SUNYAC in free-throw percentage (70 percent).

SCOUTING THE LAKERS (10-2, 4-1 SUNYAC): Oswego has won each of the past 20 meetings against New Paltz… The Hawks' last win came on Jan. 20, 2001 (68-67)… Oswego has won nine of their last 10 games, the only blemish in that streak being a 75-69 loss to Oneonta on Jan. 7... The Lakers swept last weekend's SUNYAC games against SUNY Fredonia (74-60) and Buffalo State (84-69).

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Three Laker players average in double figures, led by senior guard Daniel Ross (19.3 ppg), freshman guard Brian Sortino (14.4 ppg) and Rashawn Powell (12.0 ppg)…  Ross is the sixth best scorer in the SUNYAC… Powell leads in rebounding (8.7 rpg), fifth best in the SUNYAC…  Sortino leads in assists (3.3 apg).

TEAM STATISTICS: In SUNYAC numbers, Oswego has the top defense in the SUNYAC (64.8 ppg).

LAST MEETINGS: The Hawks lost both games against Oswego last year, falling 80-78 on Jan. 22, 2013, and 74-57 on Feb. 5, 2013.

GAME RECAPS:

Jan. 22, 2013
Feb. 5, 2013
