NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's basketball team will take the momentum of Tuesday night's 83-75 victory over SUNY Oswego – the first since the 2000-01 season, when the Hawks host State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) games against SUNY Plattsburgh on Friday at 8 p.m. and SUNY Potsdam on Saturday at 4 p.m.

RECORDS: The Hawks enter Friday night's game with a 5-7, 2-3 SUNYAC record… Plattsburgh owns an 8-3, 2-2 mark… Potsdam has a 2-9, 0-4 record heading into its Friday night game against SUNY Oneonta.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (5-7, 2-3 SUNYAC): For the first time since the 2000-01 season, the Hawks defeated Oswego, 83-75, on Tuesday night … New Paltz's last victory over conference-foe Oswego came on Jan. 20, 2001, when the Hawks won, 68-67, in a nail-biter in Oswego, N.Y... Since that win, Oswego has dominated the series, winning 20 straight contests… New Paltz shot an even 50 percent from the field, going 30-of-60...The Hawks buried 50 percent (6-of-12) of their three-point shots in the second half to finish with a 40.9 percent (9-of-22) mark from distance, and New Paltz forced Oswego into 13 turnovers that turned into 19 points… Graduate student guard

TEAM STATISTICS: The Hawks are holding their opponents to 75.3 points per game, which is the sixth-best average in the SUNYAC… The Hawks rank fourth in the SUNYAC in free-throw percentage (70 percent).
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS (8-3, 2-2 SUNYAC): The Cardinals have been idle since losing 85-78 against The College at Brockport on Jan. 11… The loss snapped a five-game Plattsburgh winning streak, which included a 63-47 victory over Middlebury College… The Cardinals won both games at the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla., defeating Milikin (71-68) and University of Wisconsin-Stout (62-40).
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Plattsburgh has a balanced scoring attack with four players averaging in double figures… The leader is junior guard Shamoy McIntosh (16.3 ppg), who has scored in double figures in all 11 games this season, including a 33-point outburst against SUNY Geneseo… McIntosh is the ninth leading scorer in the SUNYAC… Senior forward Shavar Fields follows at 13.1 ppg… The top-scoring trio also includes junior guard Jordan Moody (11.8 ppg)… Senior guard John Perez leads the team in rebounding (9.4 rpg) and also averages in double figures (10.4 ppg)… Senior guard Chris Manning assists at a 5.0 per game average, tied for best in the SUNYAC.
TEAM STATISTICS: The Cardinals are fifth in the SUNYAC in scoring (77.1 ppg) and fourth in defense (68.4 ppg)… A solid outside shooting team, the Cardinals shoot 46 percent from the field (third best in the conference) and connect from long range at a 37 percent clip, second best in the SUNYAC… Plattsburgh outrebounds its opponents by +2.4 a game, fourth best in the SUNYAC.
