NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's basketball team returns to the Hawk Center for a pair of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) games this Friday against SUNY Plattsburgh at 6 p.m. and on Saturday afternoon against SUNY Potsdam at 2 p.m.

RECORDS: The Hawks enter Friday night's game with a 2-10, 0-5 SUNYAC record… Plattsburgh owns an 8-3, 3-1 mark… Potsdam has a 3-8, 1-3 record heading into its Friday night game against SUNY Oneonta.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (2-10, 0-5 SUNYAC): A hot shooting SUNY Oswego team shot 61.5 percent in the first half and went 7-for-15 from three-point distance (46.7 percent) in defeating the Hawks 75-61 on Tuesday night… The Lakers went on a 21-5 run over a 4:57 span of the first half to take a 7-7 tie and turn it into a 28-12 lead… The Hawks were unable to bring the Oswego lead under 10 points, trailing 41-27 at halftime… Junior guard

TEAM STATISTICS: The Hawks lead the SUNYAC in offensive rebounds per game (15.3 rpg)… Opponents shoot just 66 percent from the free-throw line, which is the fourth best mark in the conference… The Hawks rank sixth in steals per game (10.0 spg).
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS (8-3, 3-1 SUNYAC): Plattsburgh is playing its first game since Jan. 11, a 76-64 over The College Brockport, which completed a weekend sweep of conference play, having defeated SUNY Geneseo 62-51 the previous day… Plattsburgh has won eight of its previous nine games after starting the season 0-2… The win streak includes an impressive 73-61 victory over Lebanon Valley College and a 58-54 win at Middlebury College.
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Two players average in double figures for the Cardinals: senior guard/forward Kathleen Payne (18.5 ppg) and junior guard Brittany Marshall (13.8 ppg)… Payne currently ranks second in the SUNYAC in scoring… She has scored in double figures in all but one game this season, including a season-high 28 points against Lebanon Valley… Payne leads the team in rebounding (7.2 ppg) with a season-best 12 against Morrisville State… Marshall leads the team in assists per game (5.1 apg)… She ranks third in the SUNYAC in three-point shooting percentage (37.1 percent) and averages 1.5 per game… Sophomore forward Devona Paul is a solid scorer (9.7 ppg) and rebounder (6.8 rpg) and leads the SUNYAC in free throw percentage (89 percent) on 33-of-37 shooting.
TEAM STATISTICS: The Cardinals are fourth in the SUNYAC in scoring (68.6 ppg) and third in defense (59.0 ppg)… Behind Paul's shooting prowess, Plattsburgh leads the SUNYAC in free-throw percentage (72 percent) and are the fourth best rebounding team in the conference (42.1 rpg).
