NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - After opening the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) schedule with a 1-1 draw at SUNY Cortland and a 2-0 loss at SUNY Oswego, the State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team prepares to host SUNY Geneseo and The College at Brockport from Friday-Saturday, Oct. 3-4, taking on Geneseo on Friday at 4 p.m. and Brockport on Saturday at 1 p.m.

RECORDS: The Hawks enter the weekend at 6-4-1, 0-1-1 SUNYAC... Geneseo enters at 7-2-1, 1-1-0 SUNYAC, while Brockport is 6-2-0 and also 1-1-0 SUNYAC.


SCOUTING THE HAWKS (6-4-1, 0-1-1 SUNYAC): The Hawks fired 26 shots off in the double-overtime tie against Cortland... Sophomore midfielder Skye Kaler scored the game's lone goal for her third of the season, with an assist from senior midfielder Sarah Painter... Senior captain Eleni Anselmi, senior defender Bryce Kristall and junior forward Chelsea Weir all registered four shots a piece... Against Oswego, the Hawks recorded nine shots, with Kristall and junior midfielder Kristina Gandolfo leading the team with two apiece... Freshman goalkeeper Katelyn Cordero played every minute of last weekend, making seven saves against Cortland and a season-high nine saves against Oswego.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Gandolfo leads the team with four goals, followed by sophomore forward Kaite Mulry, Weir and Kaler each with three goals... Anselmi has fired off 30 shots, followed by Gandolfo, who has 29 shots... Mulry also has assisted three goals and leads the team with nine points... Anselmi and Kristall are tied for second in the SUNYAC in assists and lead the team with four each... Cordero has started in all 11 matches and boasts a .815 save percentage.

TEAM STATISTICS: The Hawks have outscored opponents, 23-10, and have outshot them, 249-136... New Paltz also holds the advantage in corner kicks over opponents, 55-37.


SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS (7-2-1, 1-1-0 SUNYAC): Geneseo fell in its SUNYAC opener, 2-1, against SUNY Fredonia... Sophomore midfielder Emily Green scored the lone goal of the game and her third of the season, heading in a corner kick from junior midfielder Stephanie Clookey... Geneseo held a 25-7 advantage in shots, with 18 being on target, and a 10-2 corner kick advantage... Geneseo then went on to defeat Buffalo State, 2-1, in overtime, with Green scoring the game-winning goal... Junior forward Kelsey Raschke scored the first goal off an assist from freshman midfielder Leah Greene... Geneseo again outshot its opponent, 26-9, with 13 being on target... Senior goalkeeper Allison Stamp played both games and recorded three saves against Fredonia and six saves against Buffalo State.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Green leads the team with four goals, followed by Raschke and senior midfielder Jori Semrau, who each have three... Raschke also leads the team in shots with 45, while Semrau also leads the team with three assists, tied with senior midfielder Erin Forehlich and freshman defender Leah Greene... Stamp has started in all 10 games, recording five shutouts and boasting a .829 save percentage.

TEAM STATISTICS: Geneseo has fired off 173 shots, with 104 on goal... Geneseo has also recorded 60 corner kicks... The Knights are 2-0 in away competitions.

LAST MEETING: New Paltz was shut out, 2-0, by Geneseo when these teams last met on Oct. 5, 2013.


SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES (6-2, 1-1 SUNYAC): Brockport dropped its SUNYAC opener against Buffalo State, 4-1... Junior midfielder Courtney Szczesniak scored a goal for the Golden Eagles off an assist from sophomore forward Chelsea Stahl... Brockport fired off 10 shots but were outshot, 15-10... Stahl then went on the next day to score the game-winning goal against Fredonia, assisted by Szczeniak... Senior forward Cauli Carmona scored the first goal... Brockport fired off 16 shots... Senior goalkeeper Laura Thompson played in both matches, making four saves against Buffalo State and making five saves against Fredonia while picking up her sixth win of the season.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Carmona leads the team in goals (6), assists (3), shots (36), and points (15)... Stahl also has six goals with two assists and 36 shots... The two players are tied for third in shots and second in goals in the SUNYAC.

TEAM STATISTICS: Brockport has outscored opponents, 16-9... The Golden Eagles have recorded nine corner kicks in the first half and 18 in the second half.

LAST MEETING: The Hawks hung tough in 4-2 loss to Brockport when these two teams last met on Oct. 4, 2013.

WHAT'S NEXT: The Hawks remain at home to host SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Potsdam on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 10-11... Geneseo hosts Elmira College on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m.... Brockport hosts Utica College on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m.
