NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team closes its 2014 schedule with two final State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) contests, hosting Buffalo State and SUNY Fredonia on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 24-25. 
RECORDS: The Hawks are 4-11-1, 0-6-1 SUNYAC… The Bengals are 5-9-1, 2-4-1 SUNYAC… The Blue Devils enter the weekend at 8-4-3, 2-3-2 SUNYAC.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (4-11-1, 0-6-1): The Hawks are looking to record their first win in SUNYAC competition and play spoiler to Buffalo State and Fredonia, who are looking for SUNYAC postseason berths… New Paltz most recently fell 3-1 to No. 4 SUNY Oneonta over the weekend… Senior midfielder 
Michael Levko notched his first career goal for the Hawks with a header off a corner kick from senior midfielder and team captain 
Alec Johnson… Junior forward 
Jason Gonzalez came close to a goal but was denied by the post after dribbling past the goalkeeper… Senior goalkeeper 
Steven Domino kept the Hawks in the game with nine saves. 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Gonzalez leads the team in goals (6), points (14), shots (38) and shots on goal (21)... Freshman forward 
Gino Scardino has three goals... Sophomore midfielder 
Sam Wasser has two markers… Johnson has assisted four goals while three players have recorded two assists... Fourteen players have at least one point... Domino has started in ten matches, recording 55 saves with a .733 save percentage... Domino is 2-7-1 and has faced 152 shots.
TEAM STATISTICS: The Hawks have fired off 234 shots in their 16 games this season…106 shots have been on goal… New Paltz has earned 92 corner kicks. 
SCOUTING THE BENGALS (5-9-1, 2-4-1): Buffalo State entered the SUNYAC playoff conversation after earning its first two SUNYAC wins over the weekend against SUNY Potsdam, 2-0 and SUNY Plattsburgh, 2-1 in overtime… The Bengals are currently on a three-game winning streak after defeating Alfred University 1-0 last Tuesday in a midweek non-conference fixture… Senior midfielder Francesco Cardillo and freshman goalkeeper Hunter Hein were named SUNYAC Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the period ending Oct. 19… Cardillo assisted the first goal in their victory over Potsdam, scored the game-tying goal in the dying moments against Plattsburgh, and went on to assist the overtime game-winning goal versus the Cardinals… Hein recorded 19 saves in the past three games, including a penalty kick save in their 2-1 overtime victory against Plattsburgh… Cardillo and Hein were also named Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Players of the Week... The Bengals are fighting to earn a place in the SUNYAC playoffs. 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Sophomore forward Joe Vucic leads the SUNYAC in shots with 74… Vucic also leads the team in goals (9) and points (20)…Seven players have scored at least a goal… Cardillo leads the SUNYAC in assists with nine… Vucic has scored three game-winning goals. 
TEAM STATISTICS: Buffalo State has recorded 191 shots while scoring 21 goals… The Bengals are averaging 12.7 shots a game and have earned 52 corner kicks.
LAST MEETING: 
The Hawks' season ended with 3-0 loss at Buffalo State when these two teams last met on Oct. 26, 2013.
SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS (8-4-3, 2-3-2): Fredonia also is fighting for a place in the SUNYAC playoffs… The Blue Devils are coming off a three-game losing streak, falling to SUNY Cortland and more recently losing to Plattsburgh, 4-0 and Potsdam, 4-3 this past weekend…The Blue Devils fired off four shots against Plattsburgh as sophomore goalkeeper Sammy Torrelli made two saves… Against Potsdam, sophomore midfielder Ryan Keller netted two goals and classmate midfielder Paul Reinis recorded one… Torrelli made five saves as the Blue Devils were outshot 21-13 versus the Bears. 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Keller leads the team with five goals and 10 points… Freshman forward Ryan Ross has four goals, junior defender Mike Biggane has three goals, and four players have two goals… Junior forward Vinny Chimneto leads the team with five assists, while five players have one… Torrelli has started in 13 matches recording 61 saves, two shutouts, and boasts a .735 save percentage. 
TEAM STATISTICS: The Blue Devils have scored 23 goals this season while firing off 173 shots... Fredonia averages 11.5 shots per game... The Blue Devils have also earned 83 corner kicks.
LAST MEETING: 
New Paltz fell 3-2 to Fredonia when these two teams last met on Oct. 25, 2013.
WHAT'S NEXT: The season ends for New Paltz... Buffalo State travels to Nazareth College on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m.... Fredonia hosts Hobart College on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.
