Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision at SUNY Geneseo on Friday afternoon in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action.
The Hawks, 3-6-1, 0-2-1 SUNYAC, look to get back on track tomorrow at 1 p.m., playing at No. 25 The College at Brockport. The Knights improve to 6-4-1, 2-1-0 SUNYAC and host No. 3 SUNY Oneonta tomorrow at 1 p.m. Oneonta defeated Brockport 3-2 on Friday afternoon.
Every goal in the match was scored in the opening half, as the Knights tallied a marker in only the third minute of action on a header off a corner kick. Geneseo notched their next goal in the 22
nd minute and followed with another score just 14 seconds later to put the Hawks in a 3-0 hole.
But New Paltz ruined the clean sheet in the 32
nd minute as freshman forward
Aleco Podias (Merrick, N.Y./Sanford H. Calhoun) scored his first career goal on a shot from the top of the box that found the top right corner. Junior midfielder/forward
