Men’s Soccer Blanked at No. 25 Brockport, 4-0, in SUNYAC Action

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team fell at No. 25 The College at Brockport 4-0 in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
 
New Paltz falls to 3-7-1, 0-3-1 SUNYAC and continues on the road, playing at non-conference opponent Western Connecticut State on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. The Golden Eagles improve to 6-1-4, 2-1-1 SUNYAC and play at Houghton College on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
 
The Hawks held the Brockport attack scoreless until the second half of action but surrendered four tallies in the final period. Senior goalkeeper Andres Montoya (Levittown, N.Y./Division Avenue) was charged with the defeat despite making a season-high 10 saves. Over the weekend, Montoya and classmate Steven Domino (Valatie, N.Y./Ichabod Crane) combined for 26 stops.
 
Sophomore forward Tucker Stern (New Paltz, N.Y./New Paltz) and senior back Stephen Browne (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) both led the attack with three shots apiece. Sophomore defender Brendan Egan (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) chipped in two shots.
