NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – After falling at Williams College on Tuesday night, the State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team looks to respond in the second State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) pool play weekend, hosted by The College at Brockport, from Friday-Saturday, Oct. 10-11. New Paltz plays Buffalo State on Friday at 5 p.m. in a rematch of last year's SUNYAC championship match before taking on host Brockport (10 a.m.) and SUNY Plattsburgh (12:30 p.m.) on Saturday.

RECORDS: The Hawks are 17-4 with a 3-0 SUNYAC record... Brockport is 12-6 with a 1-2 SUNYAC mark... Buffalo State is 14-7 with a 1-2 SUNYAC record... Plattsburgh is 4-8, 0-3 SUNYAC.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS (17-4, 3-0 SUNYAC): Despite falling at Williams, the Hawks have still won six of seven matches... New Paltz defeated SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Cortland during the first SUNYAC weekend, all by 3-0 decisions... Junior outside hitter Becca Borquist leads the SUNYAC in kills per set (3.46)... Freshman setter Maddie Zwickl ranks fourth in the conference in assists per set (7.68)... Sophomore middle hitter Morgan Roessler ranks sixth in the SUNYAC in hitting percentage (.273).

SCOUTING THE BENGALS (14-7, 1-2 SUNYAC): Buffalo State brings a five-match winning streak into the weekend… Buffalo State earned a victory over SUNY Geneseo on Sept. 27 after falling to SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Oswego… The Bengals went 4-0 at the Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational from Oct. 3-4, defeating Frostburg State University, RIT, Pitt-Bradford and Hilbert College… Senior middle hitter Jessica Crooks was named the MVP of the tournament as well as the SUNYAC Player of the Week… Senior outside hitter Sam Parente ranks fourth in the SUNYAC in kills per set (2.79).

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES (12-6, 1-2 SUNYAC): Brockport rallied for a 3-2 win at the Rochester Institute of Technology on Tuesday night... Brockport trailed 8-0 and 10-2 in the fifth set before coming from behind to grab the victory... Brockport had an eight-match winning streak snapped in the last SUNYAC Pool Play weekend, falling to SUNY Geneseo and SUNY Fredonia... Senior outside hitter/libero Jaime Snyder leads the SUNYAC with 5.35 digs per set... Sophomore outside hitter Amanda Riebe and freshman setter Noelle Poloncarz are ranked third and fourth, respectively, in the SUNYAC in service aces per set.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS (4-9, 0-3 SUNYAC): Plattsburgh is looking to snap a five-match losing skid… This will be the first action for Plattsburgh since Sept. 27… The Cardinals lost to Geneseo, SUNY Oswego and Fredonia in the first conference weekend… Plattsburgh defeated Paul Smith's College and Johnson State College to begin the season… The Cardinals have also defeated Elms College and Bridgewater State University… Senior setter Meghan Clifford ranks in the top-five of the SUNYAC in assists per set (7.67) and service aces per set (0.52).
