NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The State University of New York at New Paltz men's basketball team will be in search of its first victory of the season at the Chuck Resler Tournament this weekend hosted by The University of Rochester. The Hawks will play against Utica College on Friday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. before playing in either the consolation game (1 p.m.) or the championship game (6 p.m.) on Saturday, Nov. 22, against either Gordon College or the University of Rochester.

RECORDS: The Hawks are 0-2 after falling to Vassar on Tuesday... Utica is 0-1, dropping its season opener to Cortland... Rochester is 1-0 with a victory over Nazareth College... Gordon is 0-1 after falling to the No. 16 Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Tuesday.


19874SCOUTING THE HAWKS (0-2): New Paltz fell at cross-river rival Vassar 70-61 on Tuesday night... Senior forward Taylor Sowah led the offense with 19 points... Sowah recorded his second double-double in as many games, pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds... Senior forward Alex Perlman scored 15 points behind 7-of-7 shooting from the foul line off the bench... Freshman guard Malik Seelal scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench.
