NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's swimming team will host Vassar College in its 2014-15 home opener on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m.
RECORDS: The Hawks are 1-0 in dual meets after a 141-64 win at Oswego on Saturday... Vassar is 2-2 this season despite dropping to Liberty League foe Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) 187.5-103.5 on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (1-0): New Paltz defeated Oswego in its first dual meet of the season on Saturday, beating the Lakers 141-64… The Hawks won 10 of 11 events… Senior

Marc Piliero were each double winners individually for the Hawks…. Spader touched first in the 1,000 freestyle (10:34.06) and the 500 freestyle (5:09.11), Koenig won the 50 freestyle (22.07) and the 100 freestyle (48.93) and Piliero claimed the 200 individual medley (2:07.60) and the 100 backstroke (57.75)… Junior
Rod Taskindoust won the 200 freestyle (1:51.43) and freshman
Caleb Treadwell took first in the 100 butterfly (56.14)… The 200 medley relay team of Piliero, junior
Ryan Lindgren, Treadwell and Koenig kicked off the meet with a winning time of 1:41.57, while the 200 freestyle relay contingent of sophomore
Luke Zenir, junior
Brandon Finn, Taskindoust and Treadwell combined for a winning standard of 1:30.04.
SCOUTING THE BREWERS (2-2): Vassar fell to Liberty League foe RPI on Saturday, 187.5-103.5… Vassar is 2-2 on the season, picking up wins against Bard College and Skidmore College … Senior Luc Amodio won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:16.13… Sophomore Anthony Walker won the 100 butterfly with a mark of 54.81… Walker also won the 200 fly in 2:00.56… Vassar finished seventh of nine teams at the 2013 Liberty League Championships.
LAST DUAL MEET: New Paltz fell 144-135 to Vassar when these two teams last met on Nov. 23, 2013.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Hawks will compete in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from Dec. 5-7… Vassar will gear up for the Liberty League Championships on Dec. 5-6 held at the University of Rochester.
