Meet ResultsNEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's swimming team used its depth to its advantage on Saturday in its first home dual meet of the season, defeating cross-river rival Vassar College, 169-92, at Elting Pool.
New Paltz rises to 2-0 with the win and will now gear up for the MIT Invitational, which will run from Friday-Sunday, Dec. 5-7, in Cambridge, Mass. Vassar drops to 2-3 with the loss and will next compete at the Liberty League Championships from Friday-Saturday, Dec. 5-6, at the University of Rochester.
Freshman
Marc Piliero (Peekskill, N.Y./Peekskill) and junior
Will Koenig (Highland, Calif./Redlands East Valley) each won two individual events for the Hawks. Piliero touched first in the 100 backstroke (57.12) and the 200 backstroke (2:04.17), while Koenig paced the field in the 50 freestyle (22.17) and the 100 freestyle (49.74).
Senior
Jack Spader (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck), junior
Rod Taskindoust (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown North) and sophomore
Rob Cahn (Bellmore, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) also won individual events for New Paltz. Spader posted the top time in the 1,000 freestyle (10:23.12), Taskindoust led the way in the 200 freestyle (1:53.08) and Cahn notched a victory in the 500 freestyle (5:19.17).

Caleb Treadwell (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland), Taskindoust, Finn and Koenig finished the meet with a winning standard of 3:23.12.
