NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team has a pair of matches this weekend against local opponents, first hosting Bard College on Friday, Sept. 12, at 4 p.m. before heading to Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. The contest versus Bard will be played on the recently-installed New Turf Field.

RECORDS: The Hawks are off to the best start in program history at 5-0...Bard is 1-2-1...Mount Saint Mary brings a 2-1 mark to the table.
 

SCOUTING THE HAWKS (5-0): New Paltz defeated Purchase College on Tuesday, 7-0, to continue its hot start to 2014... It marked the fourth shutout in the first five games for the Hawks... Six different players scored against the Panthers... Ten different student-athletes have notched a goal this season, with seven recording double-digit totals in shots.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Junior midfielder Kristina Gandolfo leads the team with four goals... Sophomore forward Kaite Mulry and junior forward Chelsea Weir both have three goals apiece... Senior midfielder and captain Eleni Anselmi has a team-high three assists... Four players have recorded two assists... Freshman goalkeeper Katelyn Cordero is 5-0 with a .875 save percentage and a goals-against average (GAA) of 0.23, allowing just one score this season... Gandolfo is tied for the lead in goals in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and is tied for second in points... Anselmi leads the conference in assists... Weir is tied for the league lead with two game-winning scores... Cordero leads the SUNYAC in GAA and is tied for the league lead in shutouts.

TEAM STATISTICS: The Hawks have outshot opponents, 161-29, this year, holding an 80-8 shots-on-goal edge... New Paltz has attempted 30 corners, compared to just six for foes... The team has outscored opponents, 11-1, in the second half of action... The Hawks rank first in the SUNYAC in goals forced (17) and shots (161) and are tied for first in goals allowed (1).
 

SCOUTING THE RAPTORS (1-2-1): The Raptors are wrapping up a five-game road trip to start the season... Bard tied with Elmira College in the season opener before defeating SUNY Cobleskill, 8-0... The Raptors fell to both Babson College and Wellesley College by 2-0 scores... Bard went 6-11-2 last year and defeated New Paltz for the first time ever with a 1-0 victory.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Three Raptors have two goals apiece in freshman forward Avalon Qian, junior midfielder Isabel Keddy-Hector and junior foward Abbey Labrecque... Freshman midfielder Carla Sanchez leads the squad with 12 shots... Freshman midfielder Emily Weisman is second with 10 shots... Senior midfielder Hallie Nolan leads the team with two assists... Sophomore goalkeeper Lily Harris is 1-0 with five saves and a 0.00 GAA... Sophomore goallkeeper Kelsey O'Brien is 0-1-1 with a 1.75 GAA, a .706 save percentage and 12 saves.

TEAM STATISTICS: Bard has outscored opponents, 9-5, holding a 57-41 edge in shots... The Raptors hold a 39-22 shots on goal advantage and have an 18-13 corner-kick margin... Bard has outshot teams, 31-20, in the second half.
 

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS (2-1): Mount Saint Mary has won its last two matches, including a 2-0 victory at Farleigh Dickinson University-College at Florham on Wednesday... Mount Saint Mary was picked to finish second in the 2014 Skyline Conference Preseason Poll... The Knights opened up the year with a 1-0 loss at Vassar College but bounced back with a 2-1 victory against Ramapo College.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Senior forward Marissa Segreto leads the team with two goals and four points... Freshman midfielder Destiny Ribadeneyra has one goal and two assists... Junior forward Melissa Maini has registerd the other goal for the Knights... Freshman goalkeeper Mary Riley is 2-1 with 13 saves.

TEAM STATISTICS: The Knights have outscored teams, 4-2, and hold a 31-24 advantage in shots... Mount Saint Mary has attempted 10 corners, compared to seven for opponents.
