NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team begins a brief, two-game homestand starting with Hunter on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m., playing their first match at the recently installed New Turf Field.

RECORDS: New Paltz brings a 1-2 record into Saturday...Hunter is looking for their first victory of the season, sitting at 0-5.

SCOUTING NEW PALTZ (1-2): The Hawks picked up their first win of the season on Saturday with a 3-1 victory over Farmingdale State at the Vassar Invitational...freshman forward Gino Scardino scored two goals on two shots off the bench and was subsequently named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week in addition to being named the Corvias/Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Upstate Rookie of the Week.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Scardino leads the team in goals (2) and points (4)...junior forward Jason Gonzalez leads the team in shots (11) and shots on goal (8)...Gonzalez and sophomore forward/midfielder Sam Wasser have accounted for the teams' other goals...four players have one assist...senior goalkeeper Andres Montoya is 1-1 with two saves, a 1.50 goals against average and a .400 save percentage...senior goalkeeper Steven Domino is 0-1 with three saves, a goals against average of 1.00 and a .750 save percentage.

TEAM STATISTICS: New Paltz has tallied four goals, while allowing four...the Hawks have outshot opponents 54-27, holding a 28-9 shots on goal edge...New Paltz has attempted 25 corners, compared to 11 for foes...the Hawks hold a 30-17 advantage in second half shots...New Paltz has a 3-0 first half goal margin but have been outscored 4-1 in the last stanza.

SCOUTING HUNTER (0-5): The Hawks fell to Mount Saint Vincent 4-2 on Wednesday, scoring their first goals in the last four games...sophomore midfielder/forward Brandon Fiscina scored twice in the opening half, including a penalty kick goal in the 20th minute...senior goalkeeper Emmanuel Aprilakis made eight saves in the contest...Hunter fell to SUNY Cobleskill 3-1 in the first contest of 2014...the Hawks fell in the next four matches, all shutouts...Hunter has 19 new players on this year's roster...seniors Brayan Acevedo and Michael Zebzda are the team captains...Aprilakis was named to the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Second Team in 2013...Hunter was predicted to finish seventh of nine teams in the CUNYAC Preseason Poll...the Hawks went 2-16 last season.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Fiscina leads the team with two goals...freshman midfielder Kamal Chhetri has one goal...freshman defender John Alzate-Taimal has recorded one assist...Aprilakis is 0-5 with 31 saves.

TEAM STATISTICS: Hunter has been outscored 22-3 in the first five games this season...teams have outshot the Hawks 88-41.
