NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – After defeating the Stevens Institute of Technology in comeback fashion, 3-2, on Wednesday night, the State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team will be competing in the Days Inn Blue Jay Classic, hosted by Elizabethtown College, from Friday-Saturday, Sept. 19-20.

RECORDS: With Wednesday's 3-2 victory over the Ducks, New Paltz improved to 11-2 and has won 10 straight matches... Host Elizabethtown is 7-5, winning five of its past six... Johns Hopkins University is 4-8, while Swarthmore College is 5-2 overall and has won three straight... York (Pa.) College is 4-6 overall.
 

SCOUTING THE HAWKS (11-2): New Paltz is riding a 10-match winning streak after coming from two sets down to beat Stevens on Wednesday night, 3-2... Sophomore middle hitter Morgan Roessler was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 14, making it the third straight week a New Paltz student-athlete has earned the honor... Roessler is ranked second in the SUNYAC in hitting percentage... Junior outside hitter Becca Borquist is tops in the conference with 3.56 kills per set... Senior libero Katy Herbst is third in the SUNYAC with 4.43 digs per set.

Junior Charlotte Sabatano was named to the All-Tournament Team... York started the year 2-0 by beating Centenary (N.J.) College and Emmanuel College, 3-0, but lost its next four matches... The Spartans were predicted to finish seventh in the 2014 Capital Athletic Conference Preseason Poll.

Johns Hopkins earned its three other victories this year against Bridgewater (Va.) College, Goucher College and William Peace University... The Blue Jays were picked to finish first in the 2014 Centennial Conference Preseason Poll, looking to capture their fourth-straight conference title.
