NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – After falling, 2-0, at Union (N.Y.) College on Wednesday evening, the State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team looks to regroup in its State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opening weekend, hosting SUNY Cortland on Friday, Sept. 26, at 4 p.m. and SUNY Oswego on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. at the New Turf Field.
RECORDS: New Paltz is sitting at 3-4…The Red Dragons are 5-2, seeking their sixth-straight shutout win… Oswego is 1-5-1, looking to snap a six-match winless streak.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (3-4-0, 0-0-0 SUNYAC): New Paltz is looking to snap a two-match losing skid... Against Union, senior midfielder

Jason Gonzalez ranks in the top-10 in the SUNYAC in shots (21), shots per game (3.0), points (8), points per game (1.14), goals (3) and goals per game (.429)... The Hawks are 2-0 at home this season, including winning their debut on the New Turf Field against Hunter College 4-1... SCOUTING THE RED DRAGONS (5-2-0, 0-0-0 SUNYAC): After dropping the first two matches of the season, the Red Dragons have won a program-record-tying five straight in shutout fashion... Cortland has defeated Elmira College, Montclair State University, the Rochester Institute of Technology, Ithaca College and the University of Scranton… Senior co-captain goalkeeper Tim Beauvais leads the SUNYAC in shutouts (5) and was named the SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 15… Cortland earned the No. 2 seed in the 2013 SUNYAC Tournament, falling to SUNY Plattsburgh in the championship match.
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Senior defender Chris McBride and junior forward Ole Toepfer both have a team-high six points… McBride leads the team with three goals, all penalty kick scores... Sophomore forward Nick Tata has recorded a team-best three assists… Sophomore midfielder Daniel Tesoro has fired a team-high 19 shots… Ten different players have registered a point… Beauvais is 5-2 with a GAA of 0.98, a .821 save percentage, 32 saves and five clean sheets.

SCOUTING THE LAKERS (1-5-1, 0-0-0 SUNYAC): The Lakers began the year with a 2-1 win over Cazenovia College but are in the midst of a six-match winless streak… Oswego is 1-4 at home…Junior goalkeeper Todd Lawson ranks first in the SUNYAC in saves per game (5.20)... Oswego is seeking its first SUNYAC postseason appearance since 2009.
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Sophomore forward Harrison Rieber leads the attack with two goals… Sophomore defender Brody Magro has accounted for the other Oswego goal… Magro, senior midfielder Greg Rabideau and sophomore midfielder Mitch Brickman all have one assist each… Freshman midfielder Connor Lunduski leads the team with 14 shots...
