Box Score OSWEGO, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team fell at SUNY Oswego, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action.
The Hawks, 6-4-1, 0-1-1 SUNYAC, will look for their first conference win next weekend, hosting SUNY Geneseo and The College at Brockport on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 3-4. The Lakers improve to .500, sitting at 4-4-1, 1-0-1 SUNYAC and play SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Potsdam on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 3-4.
The match was scoreless until the second half when New Paltz surrendered goals to Oswego in the 67th and 77th minutes. The marker in the 67th minute came via penalty kick for the Lakers.
The Hawks managed to get nine shots off during the contest, including four on target. Senior defender
Bryce Kristall (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West) and junior midfielder
Kristina Gandolfo (Merrick, N.Y./Sanford H. Calhoun) led the team with two shots each.
Freshman keeper
Katelyn Cordero (Airmont, N.Y./Suffern) was charged with the loss despite recording a season-high nine saves. New Paltz forced Oswego keeper Alyssa Glasshagel to make four saves.
