Jack Spader (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) won twice for the State University of New York at New Paltz men's swimming team, but the Hawks fell, 159-103, to Ramapo College on Monday afternoon at the Adele and Reuben Thomas Swimming Pool.
Spader paced the field in both the 1,000 freestyle (10:25.21) and the 500 freestyle (5:01.74), giving the Hawks two of their three wins on the afternoon. Junior
Will Koenig (Highland, Calif./Redlands East Valley) also finished first, doing so in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.38.
New Paltz drops to 2-2 with the loss and next visits Mount Saint Mary College on Friday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m. Ramapo rises to 5-1 with the victory and hosts Montclair State University next on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m.
