NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's basketball team travels to Western New York this weekend to take on State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponents SUNY Fredonia and Buffalo State on Friday, Jan. 23, and Saturday, Jan. 24, respectively.
RECORDS: The Hawks enter the weekend at 8-5, 4-2 SUNYAC… Fredonia is 6-8, 3-5 SUNYAC after defeating Buffalo State on Tuesday night… Buffalo State is 8-7, 5-3 SUNYAC.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS (6-8, 3-5): Fredonia has won two of its last four SUNYAC games… Fredonia knocked off Buffalo State on Tuesday, 72-67, in "The Battle by the Lake"… Four players finished in double figures, with sophomore guard Alexis Cheatham scoring a team-high 18 points… Freshman guard/forward Jacque Law chipped in 12 points while junior forward Sabrina Macaulay pulled in a team-best nine rebounds… On Saturday, the Blue Devils faced The College at Brockport and were defeated 74-61... Cheatham had 16 points, Macaulay had 14 and Law added 13… The Blue Devils shot 51.2 percent overall from the field in the first half and had a 20-14 rebounding margin... In the second half, Brockport had an 11-0 run and were successful in 17 of 29 shots in the second half, which put the game away…The Blue Devils also faced SUNY Geneseo on Friday and were unsuccessful, losing 76-41... Law had 13 points and Cheatham put away eight… The Devils lost their lead in the first half and never recovered.

Senior guard Olivia Luciani had 16 points, junior guard Brittnee Perry had 13 points and four assists, junior guard Clarisa Matias had 11 points and Wallace added nine points and nine boards... The Bengals were able to grab another SUNYAC win against Brockport on Friday night… Buffalo State won, 53-50, while experiencing its lowest offensive output of the season so far… Perry and Wallace both had 13 points and six rebounds… Freshman forward Niasha Houpe had eight points and 13 rebounds… The Bengals outrebounded the Golden Eagles 50-38.
