NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The State University of New York at New Paltz women's basketball team is set to begin a five-game homestand this weekend, hosting Oswego and Cortland from Jan. 30-31.
 
RECORDS: The Hawks are 9-6, 5-3 in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action… The Lakers are 5-10, 3-5 in the SUNYAC… Cortland is 12-3, 6-2 in SUNYAC play.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS (9-6, 5-3):
 New Paltz is in fourth place in the SUNYAC… Sophomore guard/forward Kit Small averaged 20.0 ppg against Fredonia and Buffalo State last weekend… Freshman guard/forward Laura Stuart averaged a team-best 9.0 rpg off the bench in the contests… The Hawks nearly pulled off a comeback at Buffalo State on Saturday, falling 69-68... New Paltz trailed by 18 points with 14 minutes left... Junior guard Christine Rivera knocked down four three-pointers off the bench in the second half... Junior guard Goldie Harrison and sophomore forward Courtney Irby both scored 10 points against the Bengals.

The Lakers are coming off of an eight-point loss at home versus Brockport on Tuesday, Jan. 20... Freshman guard Alisha Jacobs led the team with 19 points, (4-of-5 from three-point range), and six steals... Freshman forward Rachael Windhausen chipped in 13 points and led the team with nine rebounds... Junior guard/forward Heather Hebert and sophomore guard Mary Mazzella both notched 10 points apiece.
