Box Score ONEONTA, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and Catskill Cup rival SUNY Oneonta on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Oneonta sits behind New Paltz, 5-4, in the 2015-16 Catskill Cup standings.
The Hawks fall to 10-6, 3-4 SUNYAC and return for their final home game against Elmira College on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. Oneonta improves to 11-3-1, 6-1 SUNYAC and head out on the road for a SUNYAC matchup against SUNY Fredonia on Friday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m.
Both teams played to a scoreless first half but the Red Dragons were quick to pull ahead, 1-0, in the 52nd minute as senior midfielder Dylan Williams dribbled the ball past the New Paltz defense to score Oneonta's first goal. The Red Dragons maintained their momentum as junior midfielder Anthony Passiatore extended the lead with a goal in the 60th minute before senior forward Jake Sutherland sealed the final 3-0 win in the 80th minute.
Oneonta outshot New Paltz, 15-4, and held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks. Williams led the Oneonta offense, notching five shots with two on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper
John Guzzo (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) took the loss in goal but made four stops between the post for New Paltz. His Oneonta counterpart, senior goalkeeper Vincent Pellegrino, recorded three saves in goal for his sixth shutout.
