Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foe Geneseo on Friday afternoon.
The Hawks drop to 2-9-0, 1-2-0 and will visit The College of Brockport tomorrow at 1 p.m. Geneseo improves to 6-2-1, 2-1-0 and hosts SUNY Oneonta tomorrow at 1 p.m.
The Knights jumped to an early lead in the first half, as Emily Green knocked in a penalty kick in the 25th minute for a 1-0 lead. Leah Greene added another goal a minute later to give Geneseo a 2-0 advantage over the Hawks.
Sophomore defender
Monica Rouse (Amsterdam, N.Y./Amsterdam) got a handle on the ball early on in the second half and attempted to get the Hawks on the board but was unable to put the ball past the Geneseo goalkeeper. The Knights sealed the 3-0 win in the 80th minute when Carolanne Murphy rebounded a header shot.
Geneseo outshot the Hawks, 22-3, but the teams had an even advantage in corner kicks, 4-4.

Skye Kaler (Charlton, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) recorded one shot each for the day.

Mikaela Stiklickas (Nesconset, N.Y./The Stony Brook School) tallied a game-high nine saves between the posts for New Paltz.
