NEW PALTZ, N.Y.- The State University of New York at New Paltz women's basketball teams wraps up the regular season this weekend, hosting Buffalo State and SUNY Fredonia from Friday-Saturday, Feb. 20-21.

RECORDS: The Hawks are currently third overall in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) with a 15-8, 11-5 SUNYAC mark… New Paltz boasts an 8-1 home record… The Bengals are 12-11, 9-7 SUNYAC with a 3-7 away record… The Blue Devils are 9-13, 6-10 SUNYAC with a 5-6 away record.

19874SCOUTING THE HAWKS (15-8, 11-5): The Hawks are currently ranked third in the SUNYAC and are coming off a 1-1 conference weekend against SUNY Geneseo (L, 74-61) and The College at Brockport (W, 72-69)… Sophomore guard/forward Kit Small led the way for the Hawks during the weekend games with 30 total points… The Hawks had four players against Geneseo who made at least a pair of three-pointers with Small, junior guard/forward Colleen Ames, senior guard Shannan Walker, and senior guard Ashley Riefenhauser… Walker kept her three-point rally alive against Brockport by claiming 10 points behind a trio of threes… The New Paltz bench was the difference maker in the win against the Golden Eagles on Saturday by outscoring their bench 39-8… The Hawks also benefitted off every Brockport turnover and notched 25 points off 25 turnovers… When the Hawks last met against Fredonia earlier this year, Small knocked down 20 points while Walker notched 19… New Paltz lost a tough one against Buffalo State in their previous match-up (L, 69-68) and were led again by Small with 20 points... Junior Christine Rivera tallied 14 points in the second half, behind four three-pointers.

19871SCOUTING THE BENGALS (12-11, 9-7): In the recent weekend, the Bengals clinched a playoff berth by beating conference rival Fredonia, 78-64… Junior guard Brittnee Perry recorded her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 16 rebounds… Senior forward Ashley Wallace claimed her 15th career double-double in the win by scoring 20 points and notching 10 rebounds… Senior guard Olivia Luciani hit three pointers and had 13 points in the win… The Bengals finished the game shooting 36.3 percent from the floor, 31.3 percent from long range and 53.8 percent from the free throw line… Buffalo State forced 18 turnovers and held a 63-42 rebounding advantage against the Blue Devils.

LAST MEETING: The Hawks fell at Buffalo State 69-68 when these teams met earlier this season on Jan. 24, 2015.

2940SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS (9-13, 6-10): The Blue Devils are coming off a weekend rivalry loss against Buffalo State (L, 78-64)… Junior forward Sabrina Macaulay led the way for the Blue Devils with 17 points and six rebounds… Sophomore guard Alexis Cheatham helped Fredonia stay alive with 14 points and five assists… Both freshman guard/forward Jacque Law and junior guard Sammy Villarini had double digits on the day with 13 and 10 points off the bench… Fredonia was outrebounded in the loss 63-42, including 30-11 in offensive rebounds… The Blue Devils did make a higher percentage of shots (40.0 percent) than the Bengals (36.0 percent)… In the last meeting between the Blue Devils and the Hawks, Macaulay recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 15 points and 14 rebounds… Cheatham also scored 15 points while Law tallied 14 points coming off the bench.

LAST MEETING: The Hawks defeated Fredonia 73-67 when these two teams met earlier this year on Jan. 23, 2015.

WHAT'S NEXT: The SUNYAC quarterfinals begin on Tuesday, Feb. 24 with sites and seeding still to be determined.
