NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The State University of New York at New Paltz men's basketball team is set to host a pair of contests this weekend in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) against Potsdam and Plattsburgh from Friday-Saturday, Feb. 6-7 in the Hawk Center.
RECORDS: Currently the Hawks hold an overall record of 8-10, 6-5 SUNYAC and are 3-2 at home... Potsdam is 2-15, 1-10 in the SUNYAC... Plattsburgh is 13-5 with an 8-3 record in conference and 5-2 away.

SCOUTING THE BEARS (2-15, 1-10): Potsdam is in ninth place in the SUNYAC with one conference win over Fredonia in early January... The Bears enter the weekend looking to respond after falling to Buffalo State 77-74 this past Saturday... In the first half,Potsdam went on a 23-13 run with senior guard Tom Grafknocking down two three pointers... This allowed the Bears to gain a nine-point lead at the half, but could not seal the game in the second half... Senior forward Conor Englereached a career-high 14 points... Senior guard Rishawd Hendricksfinished with 13 points, while junior guard Joe Estramonte and senior guard/forward co-captain Zac Adams each added 11... The Bears shot 42.0 percent from the field versus the Bengals.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS (13-5, 8-3): Plattsburgh is tied for first place with Oswego in the SUNYAC... The Cardinals ended Buffalo State's six-game win streak this past Friday in a 86-71 win... The team also earned a commanding victory by finishing off Fredonia in a 73-41 win... Senior guard Jordan Moody was named the SUNYAC Player of the Week for his performance this past weekend... Against Buffalo State, Moody scored 12 points while shooting 62.5 percent from the field... Moody finished the weekend 4-for-7 (57.1 percent) from long range... Moody also scored a game-best 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals against Fredonia... The Cardinals will now take on a six-game road trip for most of the month of February.
